Training and professional activities

Markus Will, born in 1979, studied ecology and environmental protection and works after stations at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Institute for Technology Assessment ITA), at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Institute for Technical Chemistry – Central Department Anthropogenic Material Flows), at the Chair of Building Physics at the University of Stuttgart and the consulting company PE Europe (today ThinkStep) again at the University of Zittau/Görlitz. As a managing director of the Institute for Sustainability Analysis and Management UG, he is responsible for the methodology of greenhouse gas balancing and energy consumption controlling, which are translated into modern software applications in the company. In addition, together with Prof. Brauweiler and Prof. Tino Schütte, he moderates the Upper Lusatian energy network with 10 SMEs. As a trainer for internal auditors, among others, he accompanies manufacturing companies in the field of environmental, quality and energy management systems.

Life Cycle Assessment, production-integrated environmental protection, environmental and energy management systems, auditing of companies, sustainability management, change management, risk management.

Research and consulting focuses

Analysis of environmental impacts of products (life cycle assessment), technology assessment (currently technologies of bioeconomy, biomethane), preparation of regional greenhouse gas balances.
